Weather and the desert
هذه المقالة مكتوبة باللغة الإنجليزية.
Each run draws its own weather from a separate seeded timeline, so a Continue brings back the same sky. Most of it is scenery; a few effects touch the towers.
How often
- Rain: 20% chance.
- Sandstorm: 10% chance.
- Otherwise the sky stays clear. A storm gathers some time into the run, passes after a minute or two, and comes in one of three intensities.
What it changes in combat
| Effect | |
|---|---|
| Rain | |
| Sandstorm | Accuracy -10% for every tower that aims a shot: Gun, Cannon, Missile, Machine Gun, Bolt, Frost, Laser and their fusions |
Nothing else changes: range, rate of fire and targeting stay as they are. Flame, Poison and the Collector never roll for accuracy, so the sand does not touch them.
Scenery
- Rain darkens the clouds and brings lightning at night. On the pit floor the water runs downhill into puddles that reflect the towers and ripple under the insects' feet and the rounds; the plain above gets wet too, darker, with a few shallow sheets in its hollows.
- A sandstorm brings wind and haze instead, with no puddles and no lightning.
- Birds cross the sky and snakes cross the sand, different species by day, at dusk and at night. Small colonies of ants, beetles, crickets and butterflies live on the floor and the plain, and hide under their stones when a storm comes or insects walk past. They take shelter from the rain and the sand. All of it is scenery and never affects a run.
